Brilliantly fronted by Katie Hannon and Brendan Courtney, this series was among the first productions to be made during the pandemic.
Indiepics made this series with Scratch Films. It was designed to provide up to date, reliable and trusted information and advice; about public health guidelines, about the virus itself, about staying safe and healthy, about money (hundreds and thousands of people were facing a new financial reality), about any topic where the virus was having a societal effect. Broadcast live twice weekly from the Department of Health, the series sought to reflect a sense of solidarity and community at a critical time.
Working with production designer Anita Barrett, a standard corner office meeting room was converted to a temporary broadcast studio on the top floor of the Department of Health, in the centre of Dublin. Overlooking the city skyline, this bi-weekly programme broadcast at dusk, with glass windows on two sides of the ‘studio’; with the view being an integral part of the backdrop, all of the windows were treated to reduce any potential reflections, and allow a balanced camera exposure between the interior and exterior.
