In collaboration with the Department of Foreign Affairs High Res designed and implemented lighting for the exterior facade, the performance space and exhibition spaces, for the Irish Pavilion at Expo 2021.
Having engaged local contractors to provide and install the equipment, High Res oversaw the installation, programming and commissioning of the lighting design, and oversaw the ongoing maintenance of the lighting for the duration of the Expo. Working closely with the local contractors, and the creative team, we delivered a flexible, innovative lighting design that balanced aesthetic appeal with functionality. The design adhered to strict budgetary constraints and was executed under tight Covid-19 protocols and time restrictions. Despite the delays and challenges caused by the pandemic, the project moved forward successfully under the leadership of lighting designer Mark Galione.
Our scope was extended to develop an eight minute video content presentation celebrating Irelands culture, heritage, music and technology. Directed by Ruán Magan, and produced by Eliza McLaughlin, this piece was created by our content partners Cosmo AV.
The result was a dynamic and visually striking lighting setup that showcased Ireland’s culture and creativity on the global stage.
